Alternative Tentacles Records was established in June of 1979 and is most likely the longest lasting (and still active) underground record labels around. Although it is perceived by many as a "punk" label, having released records by Dead Kennedys and others, it is actually best known for its impact on the world of underground culture.

In the early years the label gained international attention by introducing the world to artists such as : Dead Kennedys, Butthole Surfers, D.O.A., 7 Seconds, Winston Smith, NoMeansNo, Neurosis and Voice Farm. The label has continued to remain vital in its lengthy history by refusing to adhere to a formula for an easily identifiable 'Alternative Tentacles Sound.' Rather, the label has released many political spoken word releases; as well as releasing: Brazilian hardcore, bent pop, faux-country, and assorted rock & roll. Of late, the label is also known for its "Re-Issues Of Necessity Series".

The goddess herself.  Dianivy performs solo acoustic and with her band "tribe" a mix of goddess and folk rock that rocks.  Her voice sends the nuances of her lyrics into the heights of any space.  A must listen.  Her live cd "This High in Sedona" was released in May 2008.

watchuonline.com is a free video and movie download site with some very interesting categaories.  The link above will take you to the "Barbara Bush" page which is linked to "the Rest of the World".

What is most surprising about wikipedia is the amount of information it has about poets and spoken word artists in all languages.  

Yahoos! video site.  What makes it different is you have the option to make your videos (or use someone else's) and cobble them together in their online editing suite to make something new.  Still in Beta, but a very interesting site.

Everything you wanted to know about Thailand motorcycles and for some reason, they keep putting my videos on their site.  If you stumble around long enough (most of the script is in Thai) there are some unusual things going on here with videos, role playing games and motorcycles.
